KARACHI, April 16: Three ships including Maxim Gorky carrying tourists are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, arrivals of about half a dozen ships have been delayed for various reasons but berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as ships awaiting berths off-port were toed in.

They are: Sinar Bangka, Lt. Grand, Cape Henry and APL Venezuela to offload and load containers, and Ilia to load naphtha were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Kota Wirawan, Global Paramount and Lode Star Grace, while X-Press Khilash, Lt. Grand, APL Venezuela, Cape Henry and Hyundai Stride are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves further rose to 55,685 tons comprising 29,689 tons of export cargo including 916 tons of rice and 15,000 tons of molasses and 25,996 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Bow De Feng, with chemicals, Le Jin, with general cargo and Maxim Gorky, with passengers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, April 16: Three ships, CMA CGM Capella, Lode Stargrace and Mass Merit, carrying containers, chemicals and coal, respectively, arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Four ships, Iran Mezan and Al-Farabi, Xin Xing Hai and Miraj were busy in loading/offloading sugar and edible oil, general cargo and high speed diesel oil respectively.

Miraj sailed out, while Al Farabi was expected to leave the port on Wednesday.
