KARACHI, April 15: The dispute over the possession of Lowari Sharif shrine in Badin between two groups claimed another life on Tuesday, when a man killed an advocate in a courtroom in the Sindh High Court.

It was the first killing in the courtroom of the high court. The advocate, who was shot dead, was identified as Ashraf Khan. Police said the target was Pir Mantab Ali Shah, who escaped unhurt as he ducked when the assailant opened fire with a TT pistol.

Police arrested two fleeing suspects and recovered an official motorcycle bearing police number plate. A senior police official said one of the suspects was a policeman.
