LAHORE, April 15: A PPP delegation, led by its secretary-general Jehangir Badr, called on ARD chief Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan here on Tuesday to assure him that the party would follow the same course of action on the Legal Framework Order as decided by the ARD.

Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia, who is also opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, and MNA Naheed Khan were also among the delegation members.

The two sides exchanged views on the prevailing political situation and the role of opposition parties to mount pressure on the government to come to terms.

The PPP leaders said parliament alone was competent to amend the Constitution and no individual could exercise the powers of the legislature.

The ARD president said since the LFO had been drafted by the rulers, it was for them to have it approved from parliament with a two-thirds majority.
