PESHAWAR, April 14: Central leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) and MPA, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has expressed anguish over the deteriorating law and order situation in NWFP.

He deplored the rise in the crimes rate and criticized the provincial government for its incompetence to provide safety to the people or even the personnel of law-enforcement agencies, he said in statement on Monday. He condemned the killing of police officials at the hands of miscreants, adding that it had exposed the competence of the government.

The PPP(S) leader castigated the irregular postings and appointments in the province which had caused uncertainty among civil servants and the public.

He said the people were facing hardships due to unemployment, price-hike and poor law and order situation but the provincial government had not yet adopted effective measures for the welfare of the people.

He asked the regime to fully concentrate on the improvement of law and order situation to restore confidence of the people.—PPI
