RAWALPINDI, April 12: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has appealed to the traders and people at large to permanently boycott American products to weaken its economy.

MMA leader Hafiz Mohammad Idrees, in a meeting with local leaders of the religious parties alliance, said the protest boycott had been a success. He praised the traders for sympathizing with their Iraqi brethren who were being mercilessly killed.

“It is our duty as Muslims to boycott the products of aggressors who killed innocent people in Afghanistan and now have turned their attention to Iraq.”

The game is not going to end here, and will be extended to other countries as well, Mr Idrees feared. He also asked the MMA supporters and workers to motivate people in their respective areas to opt for Pakistani products instead of foreign items.

Meanwhile, the MMA local leaders have criticized the federal information minister for, what they said, his unnecessary remarks on every matter. “Sometimes, he becomes the interior minister, sometimes foreign minister, while sometimes he gives his opinions on education, health and what not. Instead of stabilizing his own ministry, Mr Rashid thinks it necessary to speak on every problem whether or not he has information about it. He also makes unnecessary comments about MMA in order to please Gen Musharraf and Zafrullah Jamali,” they said.
