ISLAMABAD, April 11: The curriculum wing is working to mould the existing syllabus on such lines, which will create awareness to root out the social ills besides corruption of all kinds from the society.

This was stated by the federal minister for education, Zobaida Jalal, while talking to newsmen here on Friday.

The minister said the education was the only wayout to bring an end to the lawlessness and exhorted for the introduction of the character building aspect of students in the existing curriculum. “Unless and until the students are not acquainted with the aspects of integrity and honour in an individual’s life, the fate of the nation could not be changed,” she said.

Zobaida said the youth of the country must dedicate all their energies towards the attainment of education, which will bring absolute constructive changes in their lives.

The minister said unemployment gave birth to terrorism activities. The ministry is making policies on the new guidelines to wipe out the menace of lawlessness and terrorism from the country, she said.

“We are committed towards bringing out the professionals and the skilled citizenship, which would help bring the poverty indicators low and this would contribute a lot in giving employment to the youth of the country,” she maintained.

The minister further maintained that unemployment of the educated youth in the country was due to wrong and self-centred policies of the previous governments. “Since 1999 we have made sure that all the policies regarding the education sector in the country should have positive impact on the students of the nation to bring out skilled students for the country, she added.—APP
