LAHORE, April 11: Three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, popularly known as Data Gunj Bakhsh, will begin at his shrine from April 21.

The three-day ceremonies will commence with a chaddar-laying ceremony and inauguration of milk ‘sabeel’ at 9pm to be followed by a national Mehfil-i-Naat.

Punjab Auqaf Secretary Javed Iqbal Awan will preside over the mehfil while Punjab Auqaf and Zakat Minister Muhammad Khalid Raza will be the chief guest on the occasion.

A two-day Mehfil-i-Sama will be held on April 22 and 23. Religious and spiritual congregations will be held at the Data Darbar mosque where renowned ulema and mashaikh will speak and highlight the religious and social services of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh.

A mushaira will also be held at the Data Darbar Complex on April 19, prior to the Urs. Sahibzada Pir Naseeruddin Naseer will preside over the mushaira to be participated in by renowned poets.—APP
