MULTAN, April 11: The Bahauddin Zakariya University on Friday declared the result of B.Com (Part-II), second annual examination, 2002.

As many as 239 candidates appeared in the examination. Of them, 178 have been declared successful showing a percentage of 76.06.

GAMBLERS HELD: The Cantonment police claimed to have arrested 24 gamblers after raiding a den on Thursday night.

Cantonment police ASP Javed Jiskani told newsmen on Friday that the police had been vigilant for some time after receiving reports that a house at a Dhop Sarri colony had become a gambling den.

Those arrested are Zafar, Lajdin, Zahoor Ahmad, Kashif, Mushtaq, Habibullah, Abdul Hameed, Tanveer Husain, Muhammad Raees, Muhammad Akbar, Nazir Ahmad, Ameer Khan, Fayyaz Ahmad, Muhammad Ashiq, Muhammad Rameez, Shafiq, Muhammad Fayyaz, Muhammad Aslam, Ashraf Ali Shah, Amanat, Akram, Hashim Qureshi and Arif.

The police recovered Rs11,200 from the gamblers.
