PESHAWAR, April 11: The president’s wife, Sehba Musharraf, on Friday urged the women to benefit from the micro-credit scheme launched by the government through the Khushali Bank, by involving themselves in women’s development enterprises.

Speaking at a function held here to give appointment letters to the teachers of the Basic Education and Skill Development Trust, she urged women to play their role in national development, particularly the poverty alleviation programmes.

She called for efforts by the youth for promotion of education in the NWFP.

She said integrated efforts by women councillors could address the problems facing women.

She urged the social welfare organizations to expand their outreach in the rural areas.

The NWFP governor’s wife said 10 schools had been opened under BEST in Kohat district.
