Man injures two brothers-in-law

GUJRANWALA, Oct 10: An addict stabbed and injured his two brothers-in-law over a petty issue in Garjakh on Wednesday.

Bushra had shifted with her parents following a domestic dispute with her husband, Naeem. When he went to his in-laws’ house to bring her back, his brothers-in-law, Yasin and Amin, refused to send her with him. Naeem got infuriated and attacked them with a knife. Both the brothers sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

TIGHT SECURITY: The district government has tightened security by deploying police and Elite Force at all the sensitive places in and around the city.

Presiding over a meeting here on Wednesday, District Nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha urged the participants to cooperate with the district government in maintaining law and order.

District coordinating officer Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, SSP Muhammad Aslam Tarin, district bar president Naveed Anwar Naveed and members of the peace committee besides ulema of various schools of thought also attended the meeting.

INQUIRY: The district and sessions judge has ordered a probe into the killing of one Naveed Ahmad of Chak Qila Dedar Singh in an encounter with Ahmad Nagar police and inducted special judicial magistrate Muhammad Shah as inquiry officer.
