ISLAMABAD, April 10: Begum Zarina Gauhar, the widow of Altaf Gauhar, who died here on Thursday, was buried in Islamabad graveyard in the evening.
She left behind a son, Humayun Gauhar, two daughters, Naveed and Raana, and seven grandchildren.
She was one of the first Muslim women in the subcontinent who did M.A in Geography from Aligarh University. She had also studied in Wisconsin University, USA and wrote a book titled “Precipitation of Pakistan”. She also had the destination to be the faculty member at various government-run colleges at Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Her Qul will be observed tomorrow at her residence, House No: 16, Street 1, F-7/3.
