MARDAN, April 10: District Nazim Mardan, Haji Raza Khan, has asked the officials of various departments to follow district government’s directives until the dispute regarding the distribution of powers between the provincial government and Local Government (LG) was not resolved.

It may be added that the Mardan district government has developed a serious dispute over the formation of private committees by the provincial government, which interfere in the activities of the official committees of the Mardan District Council (MDC).

Addressing a meeting of the district council on Tuesday, Raza Khan claimed that the elected Nazims were doing well and they had kept a vigilant eye on the ongoing developmental projects.

He regretted that despite the importance of local government system the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government did not seem sympathetic towards it.

He said that the elected Nazims would foil all conspiracies against the district government and would continue their struggle to safeguard their rights.

He asked various departments to cooperate with the district government otherwise they would be taken to task.

The session was presided over by Iqbal Khan advocate.
