SHEIKHUPURA, April 9: Dacoits shot at and injured an assistant sub-inspector of police in Nadir Bazaar, Mandi Faizabad, on Wednesday.
According to reports reaching here, six masked men were collecting valuables from a shop when other shopkeepers informed the police.
Headed by ASI Khalid Javed, a police party reached the spot. On seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire. As a result, the ASI was injured. The dacoits, however, escaped.
The condition of the ASI was stated to be critical at hospital.
GIRL KILLED: A girl was shot dead in her house by unidentified men in Sangla Hill on Wednesday.
Shazia Bibi was siting in the courtyard of her house when some unidentified men shot at and killed her.
The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained.
Sangla City police registered the case.
