Danish Trophy match ends in fiasco

KARACHI, Dec 4. The match between Tapal CC and Mohammad Hussain CC, ended in a fiasco when players from both teams were called off the field by their respective skippers.

MHCC winning all their three matches in the pool had already reached the last four in the tournament. Tapal CC on the other hand were lying third in the table, after falling victim to M.Z. Khan CC by four runs in an earlier match and were fighting hard for survival to reach the last four.

Mohammad Hussain CC Batting first MHCC scored 160 in their 20 stipulated overs. Tapal CC needing 161 runs for victory, reached 50 for two from five overs, needing another 111 runs for victory off 90 deliveries when all hell broke loose.

Amin Merchant, Chairman of the Danish Trophy committee said that both teams MHCC and Tapal CC were scratched from the tournament.

This means that M.Z. Khan CC lying second and Clifton Gymkhana fourth in the table respectively have made their way into the semifinal.
