Bandits shoot dead policeman

NAWABSHAH, Dec 4: Three unidentified armed men gunned down a head constable near Railway crossing, Khadar, in district Sanghar on Tuesday.

Police sources said that Allah Warayo Shar, 45, head constable and in charge Jam Wah check post, was on his way home to village Mahmood Shar for iftar.

When he reached near railway crossing, three unidentified armed men stopped him and tried to hijack his motorcycle.

When he resisted, the bandits opened fire on and escaped, leaving the head constable in a critically injured condition.

He was brought to PMCH, where doctors pronounced him dead.

FOOD POISON: At least 31 persons fell unconscious after eating poisonous food at a birthday cum Iftar party hosted by Mukhtiarkar Nawabshah, Mr Abdul Ghafoor Soomro, on Monday night.

All of them were brought to PMCH, where they were treated and later discharged.
