KARACHI, April 8: About 90 per cent work of the Reproductive Health Services Training Centre at Nazimabad Chest Clinic adjacent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital has been completed, at a cost of Rs35 million.

Secretary population welfare and women development, Mushtaq Memon, was informed of this by Mrs Zeenat Yasmeen, additional secretary (medical), during a visit to the centre on Tuesday.

The centre will impart training to medical officers, general medical practitioners, medical students and family welfare workers will be imparted training on reproductive health.

The centre will also provide free services for population welfare to the people of Nazimabad and the adjoining areas.

The secretary directed the work be expedited, so that the Reproductive Health Services Centre-A and the training centre currently housed at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital could be shifted to the new building.

He also directed that advocacy facilities on population planning be arranged at the centre to convince people of the benefits of small family.—PPI
