LAHORE Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s Secretary General Lt.Col (r) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi stated that all 240 games of the Pakistan Premier League 2010 will be played at venues easily accessible to football fans.

The meeting was called on the directives of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat who had asked PFF's Operation Wing to evaluate the shortcomings of the previous editions and try to impose ways and means to make the coming showpiece event of PFF clear of any hurdles and discrepancies during 240 matches from 16 September to 14 December 2010.

“PFF decided to present the thrilling matches of the event in front of simple football enthusiasts, eliminating the venues far away from the grasp of fans,” he added.

However, the main attraction of the event will be Rawalpindis Municipal Stadium where Rawalpindi and Islamabad-based teams will host their home games. The stadium was jam-packed during the final of 26th National Football Championship 1978, with P.I.A outpacing Sindh Red 1-0 on 24 March.

The same stadium was also used for four home matches of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) in PPFL 2005 where crowd turnout was huge.

PFF also got suggestions about the similarity of field of play in all 240 matches. As per FIFA regulations, during international matches, the length of varied from 100-110 meters (width 64-75 metres) and all lines must be of the same width.

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has called Team Managers of the 16 A-Division football teams that will show their status in marathon Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) 2010 slated to commence immediately after Eid ul Fitr.

Other issues discussed at the meeting attended by all the team managers included match formats, fixtures, team colours, and refereeing. -PPI
