LAHORE, April 5: Three-year-old bay colt Super Star, who was beaten to second place in his last outing, should not let his connections down by winning the Kalam Cup during the 26th Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.

A class IV handicap race, the Kalam Cup will be run over the middle distance of 1400 metres and will be the fourth race of the six-event card.

It has nine runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals. Of them three seems to be on chance. They are: Super Star, Muqaddar and Prince Well.

By virtue of his consistent performance during the on-going Lahore Winter Meetings, with three wins and three second to his credit in as many outings Super Star looks on top of them. He finished a good second behind Storm Bird on March 30.

The supporting and third event, the Kalam Plate class IV division II to have gone over 1400 metres has ten runners barring last-minute withdrawals.

In this race Moment To Moment, My Own Business, Guys And Dolls and Better Case are prominent. The distance goes in favour of Moment To Moment, who should win provided some good rider is engaged on him.

Four events would be contested over 1400 metres and two over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres.

The first race will be held at 2 pm.
