BADIN, Sept 24 Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent Mir Mohammad Khaskheli has said that the Badin rail link will be restored soon after Eidul Fitr.

He was talking to journalists during his visit to Badin railway station on Wednesday.

He said it was first instance that a closed railway route was being restored.

He said the traffic would initially be started with improved six bogies which would take only two hours from Hyderabad to reach Badin.

He said work on maintenance of around 60 kilometres broad gauge line on Hyderabad-Badin section has been completed and the track was fit for running trains. He said communication towers and signal system have also been improved, however, some work was yet to be done at Talhar and Matli railway station before Eid.

He said railway ministry was spending a lot and renovation of the railway tracks of Badin section was in full swing. However, an amount of Rs100 million had been released on the directives of the prime minister for the completion of work. He said Rs1.2 million was being spent on the renovation work of Badin railway station and rest house.

He said that more than four acres of railway land in Badin had been given to district government for construction of library, playground and main city park for the citizens.
