Boy killed in crossfire

KARACHI, Oct 12 A 12-year-old boy was killed when activists of two political parties exchanged fire in a fight over hoisting of party flags in Korangi on Tuesday, police and witnesses said.

Awami National Party and Mutthaida Qaumi Movement activists had a clash in Zia Colony, said officials of the Korangi police station.Korangi SP Usman Ghani said that Zahid Masih, son of John, suffered a gunshot wound in the crossfire between two groups and died before he could be shifted to hospital.

Shortly after the killing, police and Rangers reached the crime-scene and got hold of several suspects.

The police arrested a dozen of suspects associated with the two groups and seized one AK-47 rifle, four TT pistols and 50 rounds of ammunition found in their possession.
