LIVERPOOL, April 4: Killusty, one of the bottom weights who had been 50-1 three weeks ago for Saturday’s Grand National at Aintree, has been backed down to 14-1.

The horse, who made a winning return last month after two years out through injury, is owned by Lady Lloyd Webber, wife of the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.

When some of the higher-weights dropped out at Thursday’s final declarations stage, Killusty made it into the field which is restricted to 40 for safety reasons.

Because of his absence he has got into the race on a low mark and trainer Charlie Egerton has booked top jockey Norman Williamson.

In nine-career starts, Killusty has finished first eight times but he has yet to tackle Aintree’s formidable fences.
