JWP slams attack on Iraq

Published April 5, 2003

QUETTA, April 4: Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Bugti has condemned the invasion of Iraq by the US-led coalition.

Talking to newsmen in Dera Bugti, he said that the Senate resolution on the issue depicted the wishes of the people.

The JWP chief said his party condemned the invasion of Iraq and Senator Amanullah Kanrani had expressed the party’s stand on the issue.

He said Iraq’s Baath Party was fighting the invaders while the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) would have welcomed them if the country was attacked.

He said the claim that the war would be short had been proven wrong.

Nawab Bugti said no country was helping Iraq as all the Muslim countries were afraid of the United States.
