LAHORE, April 3: Jamaat-i-Islami naib amir and MMA leader Liaquat Baloch has announced full support of his party and the alliance for the demands of all-Pakistan traders convention held in Bahawalpur on March 30.

In a statement, he said the MMA would also support the Bahawalpur traders’ strike on April 8 against war on Iraq.

Meanwhile, the MMA supreme council will meet in Multan on Friday, following a million march in the town earlier in the day. Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani will preside.

Besides discussing public and international issues, the council will also review the talks so far held with the government on the LFO.

Mr Baloch said the MMA had appealed to the nation to observe ‘Prayer Day’ on April 11. It has also decided to hold another million march in Hyderabad on April 14.— Staff Reporter
