2 kidnapped in Khyber Agency

LANDHI KOTAL, April 3: An official of the communications and works (C&W) department and a government contractor were kidnapped by unidentified hijackers in Landhi Kotal Tehsil of Khyber Agency on Wednesday evening.

They were abducted near Karamna, some 20 kilometres south of Landhi Kotal. The car they were travelling in was also taken.

They were returning to Jamrud after inspecting a road project, sources said.

Sub-engineer Ikramullah of Charsadda, and contractor Ferozdin of Mardan, the two victims were following the car of C&W chief engineer Rahim Masood in the Zakhakhel tribal area on their way back to Jamrud.

At the time of the kidnapping they were travelling alone, without their official escort.
