HYDERABAD, April 3: The leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal have termed US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair murderers of Muslims and humanity.
They announced a million march would be taken out in Hyderabad on April 14 against the US-led attack on Iraq.
They were speaking at a “Down with America Rally” staged under the banner of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) here on Thursday.
Hundreds of people participated in the rally. Leaders of various other parties also participated in the rally.
The protesters burnt effigies of President Bush and Prime Minister Blair.
Earlier, the protesters took out a procession from a local hotel that terminated at the press club after marching through the Jail Road, Hirabad, Market, Tilak Incline, Faujdari Road, Station Road, Haider Chowk and the Risala Road.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh MMA vice-president Maulana Abdul Karim Abid said the massacre of the people of Afghanistan and the attack on Iraq had proved the US was the greatest terrorist.
He appealed to Muslim countries in particular and the world community in general to unite on one platform against the United States so that it could be stopped from attacking other counteries.
He called upon the rulers to close down US companies working in the country.
DEMOLISHED: In the light of the orders of the Sindh High Court, illegal constructions, including the unapproved Gulshan-e-Fareed Illahi housing scheme on survey No63, 64, 69, 70, 71, 72 and 81 across the Phulelli Canal, G-ward, have been demolished with the help of the police.
This was announced by the Building Control Department of the Hyderabad Development Authority on Wednesday.
