Yousuf and Naveen opt out

KARACHI, April 2: Country’s two premier snooker players, Muhammad Yousuf and Naveen Perwani have opted out of the 4th Red and Whites Billiards and Pool Championship being held at Snooker Zone Club from April 5 to 12.

Secretary, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Aspi Mavalwala said that former World and Asian Snooker Champion Yousuf and Pakistan number 4 snooker player Naveen Perwani have not entered the competition.

He said 46 cueists have submitted their entries for Pool Championship while 28 be contesing in the contest.

Aspi said Reigning Champion Saleh Muhammad (NWFP), Yousuf Haroon (SIndh), Imran Shahzad (Punjab) and Arifullah (NWFP) have given byes in billiards championship.

He said in pool event Shakeel Bhatti (Sindh), Khurram Agha (Sindh), Imran Shahzad (Punjab) and Asif Moti (Sindh) has been given byes with some other players.

The winners in both Pool and Billiards will get Rs 30,000 each out of total prize money of Rs 110,000.—APP
