Shamyl strikes

LAHORE, April 1: Five goals by Shah Shamyl Alam including a hat trick enabled Green Earth Recycling (GER) to crush First Law Company  8-1/2-2 in the Musa Industries Cup polo tournament on Tuesday.

With half goal on handicap, GER came out with 2 1/2-1

lead at the end of the first chukker.

Kamran Zaidi drew first blood for the winners scoring a field goal after a long chase.

Shamyl scored his first. Later, Umar Sadik who scored both goals for the losers, struck his first goal.

GER retained the lead 3 1/2-2 as both teams scored a goal apiece in the second chukker. Umar banged home his second, converting a 40-yard  penalty hit.  Shamyl  scored  his  second crowning a field attempt.

In the third chukker, Shamyl was on song and completed the hat trick which took the lead 6 1/2-2.

He scored his third goal through a 60-yard penalty  hit  with a lofted shot. He also converted a 30-yard penalty hit to complete the hat trick. In the dying minutes of the third chukker he scored his fifth goal through a field goal.

In the fourth chukker, Agha Murtaza scored back to back goals for the winners to make the tally. In another match, Atif Yar Tiwana and Taimur Malik scored three goals each which helped Dew Drops beat Aptex 7- 5 1/2.
