HARIPUR, April 1: The Haripur Tehsil Nazim was granted bail before arrest here on Tuesday by the local session court. An FIR was lodged against him by a teacher of a religious Madressah with the Khalabat Township police the other day.

Maulana Hafiz Mohammad Tariq in his written complaint to the PS Khalabat Township, accused the Haripur Tehsil Nazim Iftekhar Ahmad Khan for assaulting the students and teachers of Jamia Ahl- i-Bait Tahleem-ul-Quran of Main Chowk Khalabat Township armed with klashinkove, using filthy language and hurling life threats on them besides taking with him the sign boards of his Madressah.

The police registered a case against the Tehsil Nazim under section 506 PPC and investigation was under way.

However the accused, Tehsil Nazim, managed to get his bail before arrest from the court of Additional Session Judge Ajab Khan.

Mr Khan had also earlier been nominated, along with a number of other persons in an FIR lodged officially by the police in the famous case of setting police station Khalabat Township ablaze in 1998.—Correspondent
