PESHAWAR, April 1: A businessman was robbed of his valuables in Mohmandabad locality of Chamkani area by a group of 15 armed people.

Haji Mohammad Aslam, told Dawn on Tuesday that 15 armed men entered his house late Sunday night and after making all the inmates hostage at gunpoint decamped with Rs1.8 million cash, 129 Tolas of gold jewellery, six expensive wristwatches, a repeater gun and a mobile phone.

He said that the burglars before entering into the house disconnected the telephone connection.

Mr Aslam, who is a property dealer and also deals in Fiat tractors, said that the burglars remained in the house for more than three hours and escaped with the valuables.

He denied involvement of any of his servants in the burglary.

Mr Aslam registered an FIR with Chamkani police station. But, when the police station concerned was contacted on phone, the duty official denied occurrence of the incident.
