HYDERABAD, April 1: A group of teachers, under the banner of the Sindh Teachers Alliance, observed a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Tuesday.

Led by Ms Kathreen, Ms Talat, Ms Saima, Mehboob Soomro and Tariq Memon, the teachers were protesting against non-payment of training compensation.

Talking to newsmen, they said hundreds of teachers who had received training had not been paid compensation as required under the rules.

They threatened to stage protest demonstrations outside the office of the EDO, education, if they were not paid compensation.

HUNGER STRIKE: The hunger strike being observed by six former employees of the Fateh Apparel Limited and the Fateh Weaving Mills entered the 103rd day here on Tuesday.

The protesters are demanding payment of their dues.

They regretted they were protesting for the last 103 days but authorities concerned had not taken any notice of the matter.

SENIORITY LIST: The Sindh Professors and Subject Specialists Association, at a meeting held here the other day, demanded of the secretary for education to publish seniority list of subject specialists.
