LAHORE, March 31: Nine small political parties have announced the formation of a Pakistan Aman Committee to elicit public reaction to war.

These parties are the Pakistan Awami Party, the Social Democratic Party, the Mazdoor Kissan Party, the People’s Democratic Front, the Pakistan Mazdoor Mahaz, the Commune, the Pakistan Workers Party, the Awami Jamhoori Party and the Pakistan National Party.

In a joint statement, these parties have urged the masses to launch their anti-war struggle along with the movement against capitalistic monopolies.

They called for taking every step to maintain peace, putting an end to the arms race, banning nuclear weapons, withdrawal of foreign forces from all states, cut in military expenditure and consuming the funds thus saved to provide basic amenities to the people. — Staff Reporter
