PESHAWAR, March 31: Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has lodged cases against 21 people for their alleged involvement in power pilferage under its provincewide on-going campaign to control power theft.

FIRs have been registered at the respective police stations against these people, a press release issued by Pesco said here on Monday.

Legal action against 21 consumers accused of power pilferage was necessitated on the basis of Wapda laboratory’s report which confirmed that electricity meters had been found tampered.

Apart from lodging FIRs, Pesco also imposed fine on consumers accused of power theft.
