ABBOTTABAD, March 30: National Database Registration Authority Swift Centre has started an evening shift to facilitate   applications for new national identity cards.

Nadra’s project manager, Abbottabad, Fayyazur Rehman told Dawn on Saturday that the swift centre would remain open from 5pm to 10.30pm to clear the backlog of work.

He said that the office would also remain open on Sundays.

Mr Rehman said that on the evening shift cards would be issued to applicants who had submitted their application forms more than four months back, adding that they would get cards without paying the fee again.

He said that the swift centre would be linked with the main data centre in Peshawar and Islamabad.
