ISLAMABAD Wapda won the National Women basketball championship after recording an emphatic 43-31 victory against Higher Education Commission (HEC) at the Pakistan Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

It was a well-coordinated effort by Wapda which was hugely backed by spectators.

Right from the start Wapda's energetic team overpowered a low profile HEC, winning the first quarter 18-10.

HEC failed to create any impact even in the second quarter losing it 13-27.

Wapda continued their run for the title winning the third quarter 37-20.

However, in the final quarter, HEC displayed some team efforts but failed to create an impact losing it 31-43.

Earlier, in the day Rangers scored an easy 47-32 win over Islamabad for the third position.
