KARACHI, March 29: A teenage boy committed suicide in Federal B Area on Friday.

The police said Faizan Naseem, aged 15, student of class VIII, hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house at Joharabad.

The family scolded the boy over some personal matter, the police said.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

ROAD ACCIDENTS: Five persons died in road accidents in the city since late Friday night.

A young man died in a road accident in TPX on Friday night.

The police said Noor Husain, aged 30, was run over by a speeding minibus of route W-11 (JE-0260) at the Native Jetty bridge. He was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The bus driver escaped.

A teenage boy died in a road accident in Mehmoodabad on Friday night.

The police said an unidentified teenage boy, riding a bicycle, was knocked down by a speeding water tanker (JP-1124) in Manzoor Colony. He died instantly.

The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post- mortem. After autopsy the body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.

A young man was run over by a bus in Orangi Town on Saturday.

The police said Mohammed Sharif, aged 30, was run over by a speeding bus of route I-D (JA-2595). He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A woman died and her two son’s were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in hit against a long trailer in Nazimabad late Friday night.

The police said Farzana, aged 65, Rehan, aged 25, and Adeel, aged 20, were injured when their Suzuki FX (F-3185) hit against a trailer (LSA-2188) parked on Ibn Sina Road.

They were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced Farzana dead on arrival. Her sons were admitted to the hospital.

A autorickshaw driver died in a road accident in Orangi Town on Friday night.

The police said a rickshaw driver, identified as Abdul Khizir, aged 30, was injured when his rickshaw overturned in the police limits of Mominabad.

He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

GROUP CLASH: A young man died and another was injured in a group clash at Saeedabad on Friday.

The police said Shaukat Ali, aged 30, died and a bystander, identified as Khalid Shah, aged 25, was wounded when two groups traded fire with each other in Abidabad, Saeedabad.

It started with arguments between two families living in Abidabad. The arguments turned violent in which Shaukat Ali and an onlooker were injured. They were rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced Shaukat Ali dead on arrival. Khalid Shah was admitted to the hospital.

The police had not made any arrest when this report was filed.

The police said the families which were involved in the clash were related to each other. The police attributed the clash to old enmity between the two families.

SHOOTOUT: An alleged bandit was injured in a shootout with the police in Ferozabad on Saturday.

The police said a police mobile of Ferozabad police station while carrying out snap check in the area flagged two men riding a motorcycle to stop near Society Office. Instead, one of the suspects opened fire at the police.

The police returned the fire injuring one of the suspects. His accomplice escaped.

The police recovered a pistol from the possession of the injured suspect, who has been admitted to the JPMC.

The identity of the suspect had not been established when this report was filed.
