LAHORE, March 27: The entire democratic setup will crumble if the Legal Framework Order (LFO) was struck down, creating a turmoil as a result.

This was the crux of arguments submitted by Attorney General of Pakistan Makhdoom Ali Khan on Thursday before a Lahore High Court division bench during the hearing of a petition assailing the LFO.

Parliament — the National Assembly and Senate — had been elected and the federal and provincial governments formed under the LFO, he said and added that turmoil and chaos would result if the LFO was struck down.

The division bench comprises Justice Tassadaq Hussain Jilani and Justice Raja Muhammad Sabir.
