PPP-S backs JUI-F in by-poll

PESHAWAR, Jan 9 The Pakistan People's Party-Sherpao (PPP-S) has announced its support for the candidate of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Laiq Mohammad Khan, in the by-election on NA-21 Mansehra.

The PPP-S took the decision in a meeting held at the residence of party president Aftab Sherpao in Islamabad, says a press release issued here on Saturday.

The meeting was also attended by party leaders from Mansehra including Sakhi Mohammad Tanoli, Abrar Saeed Swati, Ibrar alias Iqbal, Naeem Nakhi Tanoli, Jamshed Khan and Shaikh Shafi.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Faiz Mohammad. The by-election would be held on Jan 28.

LAKKI MARWAT The process of filing nomination papers for the by-election on provincial assembly constituency PF-75 ended on Saturday.

According to official, 40 candidates filed their nomination papers.
