Farmer injured by dacoits

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 23: Dacoits injured a farmer on resistance in Chak 323-JB, Qiampur, on Saturday night.

Four dacoits entered the house of Amir and held up the inmates. When the house owner raised an alarm, the intruders shot at and injured him. The injured was taken to the DHQ hospital.

Some dacoits had deprived Amir of his tractor three weeks ago.

PROTEST: A procession was taken out here on Sunday to condemn US invasion of Iraq.

The procession, organized by the Valiants Social Welfare Organization and participated in by dozens of children, started from the Grain Market and concluded at Saddar Bazaar Chowk.

In the Christian Colony, an anti-US rally was also held under the auspices of the Christian Labour Front.
