PESHAWAR, June 21 Suspected militants blew up a shrine in the limits of Chamkani police station early on Monday.
A police official quoting the local people said a huge blast occurred at about 3am at the shrine of Mian Umer Baba. The official said it was an old single-room shrine where people used to come from various areas. He said so far no suspect had been arrested. However, he said, a terrorism case had been registered against the unidentified persons.
According to a bomb disposal unit official, about 1.5kg explosives had been used in the blast. He said it was a time bomb which had been packed in a plastic can and planted along the shrine's main wall.
He said no loss of life had been reported in the blast.
