Ex-PSP leader passes away

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 18: Pakistan Socialist Party former district President Mian Abdul Latif died at Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore on Monday night after a protracted illness.

He was husband of former district council member Begum Tahira Latif and brother-in-law of known TV compere Tariq Aziz.

He was laid to rest on Tuesday at the central graveyard. A large number of people attended his funeral prayers. Prominent among them were Tariq Aziz, former MNA Hamza, former MPA Mian Muhammad Rafiq, District Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq, Punjab Millat Party chief organizer Ghayasuddin Janbaz, Pakistan Mazdoor Kissan Party leader Chaudhry Farzand Ali and British labour leader Rashid Saraba.

Quran Khwani for the deceased will be held today (Wednesday) at the grain market’s Jamia mosque. — Correspondent
