RAWALPINDI, March 18: Senator Ilyas Bilour has called upon the government to introduce tax incentives and reduce the rate of sales tax for the development of new industry.

Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Tuesday, Mr Bilour said the government should introduce and follow consistent and liberal economic policies to alleviate poverty and put the country on the track of development.

He resolved to support the business community in the Senate to effectively pursue its legitimate interests.

The RCCI president, Osman Khalid Waheed, said the government should be pressed for presenting a 5-year economic road-map endorsed by both the National Assembly and Senate.
