LAHORE, March 17: Chief Justice Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry hoisted on Monday the flag of the Lahore High Court at its building.
The green flag bearing the monogram of the LHC has been hoisted along with the national flag.
The LHC flag was hoisted during British reign and was revoked later.
The flag hoisting is a sequel to the a decision to revive 100-year-old traditions of the LHC.
The former dress code of the LHC judges had already been revived by the sitting CJ. The judges now wear tie, coat and shirt instead of Shalwar Kameez and Sherwani.
COPY FEE: A new system has been introduced for the supply of certified copies of the court orders, the LHC registrar said on Monday.
In a statement, the registrar said the applicants making an application for a certified copy used to pay Rs2 court fee and Rs5 copy charges. Thousands of prepared copies had not been collected by the applicants for years, resulting in loss of millions of rupees.
Therefore, to check frivolous petitions for copy supply and to prevent loss to national exchequer, it had been ordered by the LHC administration that from March 1, 2003, an advance of Rs30 to Rs100 would be charged on different categories of the cases.
This amount would be adjusted towards final copy fee charges. The amount in excess would be refunded at the time of delivery of copies.
