Four punters held

NEW DELHI, March 11: In yet another crackdown on a racket involved in betting over the World Cup matches, Indian police arrested four persons allegedly involved in betting on India-Sri Lanka match.

Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended Naveen Sabharwal (34), Rajesh Kumar (33), Milson Manial (36) and a bookie Kanwaljit Singh (36) from nave Shahdara area of east Delhi on Monday night when they were allegedly found betting.

Four TVs, 10 telephones, five mobiles, two EPABX systems, two calculators, recording instruments and registers have been recovered from them, police claimed.—PPI
