Robbers gangs busted

LAHORE, March 8: The city police claimed on Saturday to have busted two gangs of robbers and swindlers.

Following a tip off, the police raided a graveyard on Ferozepur Road and arrested a six-member gang of robbers and recovered three motorcycles, four pistols and cash, jewellery and valuables worth Rs150,000 from their possession.

The robbers were identified as Ijaz (ring leader), Ali, Tariq, Pervaiz, Fayyaz and Shabbir.

The Lorry Adda police claimed to have arrested swindlers Saeed, Anwarul Haq and Khalid Mahmood from the bus stop and recovered Rs25,000 from their possession.

body found: The decomposed body of an unidentified woman was found from a drain in Manawan on Saturday.

Police said some passersby spotted the body which was in later stage of decomposition.

The body was sent to the city morgue.
