PESHAWAR, March 8: The PML-Q youth wing has finalized arrangements to observe year 2003 as the year of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, as announced by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali, said a press release on Friday.

In this connection, a meeting of the PML youth wing was held here on Friday which was presided over by its central senior vice-president Mohammad Imran. The meeting was infor-med that the prime minister had announced that the year 2003 would be observed as Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah’s year and functions would be held across the country to pay her tributes.

The first function in this regard would be held in Peshawar on March 30, which was attended among others by Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Salim Saifullah Khan, the press release said.

The PML-Q activists would pay homage to Ms Jinnah for the services she rendered for the people of the subcontinent, it said, adding that Ms Jinnah stood like a rock along with her brother Quaid-i-Azam Moham-mad Ali Jinnah during the independence struggle and there was a need to apprise the people of her services.
