ISLAMABAD, March 7: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) observed a ‘protest day’ on Friday and staged demonstrations at 55 different places in the capital to protest against the United States’ stance on Iraq.

The demonstrations were staged after Jumma prayer in front of different mosques.

The main demonstration, led by Maulana Ghafoor Haidri, was staged at Sector F-7/4. The speakers expressed solidarity with the people of Iraq. They condemned the US for eying Iraq’s oil reserves behind the smoke screen of destroying chemical weapons.

MNA Mian Mohammad Aslam said the alliance had set up 100 camps in the capital in connection with its ‘Million March’.
