SUKKUR, March 6: Primary school teachers, under the banner of the Primary Teachers Association, on Thursday held a protest demonstration against the kidnapping of 5-year-old boy, Mohammed Ovais Khilji, son of Saifur Rehman, a primary school teacher four days back, from the Qasai Mohalla, Kandhkot.

They were led by its president, Abdul Karim Shah.

The protest demonstration started from the Adrush High School and passing through the main thoroughfares of the city stopped in front of the Clock Tower.

All the primary and some middle schools remained closed in Kandhkot throughout the day in protest against the law and order situation.

The protest demonstration which converted into a public meeting demanded of the newly-appointed AIGP, Rahoo Khan Brohi, to take special measures for the recovery of Mohammed Ovais Khilji, otherwise the teachers would be forced to close all the schools not only in Kandhkot but the entire upper Sindh and boycott the examinations.

Meanwhile, the Shehri Action Committee, led by Haji Saeed Ahmed Siyal, president of the Kandhkot Shehri Action Committee, on Thursday, expressed their anger over the police who failed to provide protection to the people and gave a deadline of 48 hours for the safe recovery of the child.

Besides this, the DPO, Jacobabad, suspended two SHOs, Nawaz Farooqi and Agha Israr Pathan, for grass negligence of their duties.
