Three killed in Gujrat

GUJRAT, March 2: Three people were killed in various parts of the district during the last 36 hours.

A man named Islam was shot dead by two persons at Maroof, Jalalpur Jattan. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained, as the deceased’s family denied any enmity.

At Bashir colony, Nadeem Husain was shot dead by Aslam and his accomplices. Civil Lines police have registered a case.

Two bandits gunned down a passenger near Bekanawala in Dinga. Reports said two armed men signalled a bus (GTD-9386) to stop, but the driver accelerated its speed. They opened fire on the bus, injuring Manzoor. The injured died on his way to the nearest hospital.

Police are going into the matter.
