MIRAMSHAH, Jan 1 Two people were killed and four others injured when a US drone fired two missiles on a car parked outside a residential compound in Hakimkhel area of North Waziristan on Friday.

On Thursday night, a drone attacked the house of tribesman Karim Khan in Machikhel area of Mirali tehsil, leaving seven people dead.

According to sources, militant leader Haji Mohammad Umar was among those killed in the attack. Haji Umar was buried in Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan.

Haji Umar, who had signed a peace deal with the government in 2005, was declared successor to militant leader Nek Mohammad after the latter's death in a missile attack in 2004. The peace deal collapsed and Haji Umar started organising attacks on Pakistani troops and Nato forces in Afghanistan.
