KARACHI, March 1: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the government to adopt effective measures to arrest the deteriorating law and order situation in the city.

In a press statement on Saturday, KCCI president Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo said that there were growing cases of crimes, target killings, murders, dacoities, thefts, car-lifting and traffic accidents.

The KCCI president argued that such increasing incidents of lawlessness would destabilize the economy and run counter to the efforts being made to foster peace for generating economic activities and employment. “This would also send negative signals to the investors,” he maintained.

Mr Maggo appealed to the government to order the law-enforcing agencies to intensify their efforts for the safety and security of life and property of the people.
